SSC CGL 2024 Exam Date Out in SSC Calendar
The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC CGL 2024 exam calendar. The online portal for the application will commence from 11 June 2024 to 10th July 2024 on the official website. The exam date for SSC CGL Tier I 2024 has been scheduled for the month of July 2024.

SSC CGL selection process is explained below:
Candidates who have applied for SSC CGL 2024 exam, will be allotted a Roll number and Admit Card to appear in the Computer Based Examination (Tier-I). The time limit for the examination of Tier-I is 60 minutes.
SSC CGL Tier-I date is released but the Tier-II date will be out and candidates will be called to appear in the exam.
SSC will announce separate cut-offs for Paper-III of Tier-II. Paper III is mandatory for the candidates who have applied for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO). Paper-IV of Tier-II is mandatory for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer. Paper-I and Paper-II of Tier-II are common for all the posts offered in SSC CGL 2024 exam.

Normalization: In case the multiple shifts of the SSC CGL 2024 exam have some variations in the difficulty level then normalization will be implemented on the basis of marks scored in Tier-I and Tier-II. Normalization done through this process will be treated as the final score and the results will be prepared on the basis of those marks.
SSC Tier I and Tier II follow negative markings for every wrong answer by deducting 0.50 marks as a penalty for every mistake. It does not have a sectional cut-off. No marks will be deducted for any unattempted question or in case it is left blank.
In case there is a tie in the scores of the aspirants in all the Tiers of the examination, the examining body of SSC will decide the tie-breaker using the following conditions:
1. Marks scored in Tier-II Examination.
2. Marks scored in Tier-I Examination.
3. To consider the date of birth, taking the older candidate to be placed higher.
4. To take the alphabetical order where the first names of the candidates emerge.
Here is the list of amendments suggested in the SSC CGL 2024 Notification by the Staff Selection Commission:
1. Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in Tier -I and Tier II examinations. The category-wise marks to be scored are given below:
UR: 30%
OBC/ EWS : 25%
Others: 20%
2. Candidates qualifying Tier-I will be allowed to appear in Tier-II Examinations.
3. SSC CGL Tier-II comprises of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III
4. Candidates shortlisted in Tier-II for the posts of JSO/ Statistical Investigator and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be eligible to take Paper-III correspondingly.
5. The exam date for Tier-2 will be notified later on, initially, it used to be declared in the notification itself.
6. Only for those candidates who had Qualified Tier-II sheets will be assessed.
7. Candidates who have qualified all the Tiers of SSC CGL EXAM will be called for the Document Verification and Skill Tests i.e. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST).
8. Skill Tests are obligatory but qualifying in nature. In case a candidate does not appear in Skill Test or fails to qualify for the Skill Test, he/ she will not be applicable for the posts where CPT/ DEST is obligatory.
9. Qualified candidates will be given the preference of posts online before processing for Document Verification.

The candidates are allowed to choose three centers of their choice while filling out the form. The Staff Selection Commission will try to allocate the exam center according to candidate preference. If the first exam center chosen by the candidate is not available, then SSC will adjust according to their second and third preference. Follow these steps to apply for SSC CGL online:
First of all, log in to the official website http://ssc.nic.in
Register as a new user at the website which can be created by using a valid email ID and phone number. You will get the OTP for the required ID you want to generate for the SSC portal.
After you click on the Apply button, you will get the application form, and fill it out online.
You need to have scanned copies of the recent passport-size photograph, signature, and thumb impression to fill out the application.
You can pay the application fee online or through a Challan which will be generated after you have filled in the required application for SSC CGL 2024 Exam.
After registration click on the Apply button to get the application submitted to the portal.
Then click on the submit button after cross-checking the details or else you will not be able to make any changes afterwards.
Download the duly filled-in application form.
Take the printout for future reference.
The documents are required at the time of online application submission and final verification. The candidates must have a hard copy of online submitted documents at the time of final verification. Staff Selection Commission will call the qualified students for the document verification process after the completion of the exam process.
